Expert Consultations on Georgia’s Annual National Programme/ANP 2015
On February 12-13, 2015, an international workshop on the topic: “Taking Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic Aspirations: Expert Consultations on Georgia’s Annual National Programme 2015” was jointly organized by the Office of the State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and the Embassy of Romania, in its capacity of NATO Contact Point Embassy (CPE) in Georgia with the support of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia (NLO). The ANP 2015 is the 7th such document concluded so far by Georgia with NATO.
Around 70 experts and officials from Georgia and Allied Nations (MFA and MoD), NATO International Staff, as well as representatives from NATO members states’ embassies in Tbilisi participated in this event, making concrete proposals and comments on the draft ANP 2015 document prepared by the Georgian authorities. In his address on the opening of the seminar, David Bakradze, Georgian State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration thanked guests for participation and for theirs contribution to the draft ANP document, expressing hope that the current programme would receive positive evaluation from Allies, just like previous programmes.
The Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu, who paid on this occasion an official visit to Georgia, addressed the participants of the international workshop on the development of Annual National Programme of Georgia. It is for the third consecutive year that Minister Aurescu attended the international ANP workshop, expressing Romanian strong support for domestic reforms agenda and the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Georgia. It was also underlined the role of the NATO CPE fulfilled by the Embassy of Romania to Georgia within its second mandate (2015-2016), as an element consolidating Romania’s efforts to back Georgia’s efforts and to facilitate NATO-Georgia cooperation and public diplomacy dimension.
